Gerry Leeseberg took some time out of his schedule last Friday to develop Ohio’s next generation of lawyers as a volunteered judge of the 2016 Ohio Middle School Mock Trial Showcase. The mock trial is done to complement the teaching of S.E. Hinton’s popular novel The Outsiders and the competition consisted of roughly 30 schools from all over the state. He is pictured above (far left) with students from Antioch Home School Group in Delaware County.

As a judge for this competition, Mr. Leeseberg was charged with presiding over the trial as students for the prosecution presented evidence in an attempt to prove that the defendant was guilty of murder while students for the defense argued self-defense. At the close of the trial, Mr. Leeseberg provided the students with valuable feedback regarding the strengths and weaknesses of their performance based on his many years of experience as a successful trial attorney.
